NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information’s (NCEI) Industry Proving Grounds (IPG) initiative is currently offering a recorded webinar spotlighting NOAA’s insights into hurricanes. The webinar, which was conducted on July 29, was tailored for industry professionals across the U.S. economy. NOAA experts delved into historical hurricane data, 2024 hurricane season predictions, and future projections.
Professionals and leaders from across U.S. industries who participated received invaluable insight into NCEI’s data resources and products designed specifically for industry applications. Key speakers from NOAA’s NCEI, Climate Prediction Center, and Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory shared their research and depth of knowledge on hurricanes. They discussed their insights into historical hurricane data portfolios, offered a comprehensive outlook on the 2024 season, and provided forward-looking projections. This webinar was an exciting opportunity to learn about the latest research from NOAA’s top minds, as well as how NCEI’s IPG initiative is improving functionality and access to NOAA’s data products and resources in order to provide industries with a strategic advantage in understanding and preparing for hurricane impacts, in turn strengthening our economy and communities.
